a little about the organizer
Ever since I was a teenager I have wanted to teach others
how to do things more efficiently. That means I have enjoyed organizing
others for a long time! I have run out of family members to organize so
now it is you – the publics turn!
Having literally spent seven years at the “drawing
board” and three years at a CAD (computer aided drafting) station as a Drafting Technician, three years working with Middle School students as a Health Assistant
and then relocating to Spokane, I decided it was time to follow my dream
- my dream to become a Professional Organizer. To be able to help others
have the most organized space possible with the most attractive things
possible at the lowest price possible. It is now a reality!
When I walk into a store the first place I go is to the "organizational" area. My heart beats double time when I get
to shop at The Container Store or Storables. When I see clutter my mind
immediately shifts into organizing mode and I being picturing how I could contain
that clutter and make that space a better, more efficient place.
I have been organizing and space
planning for years. By attending the Professional Organizer Training Institute ™ training program for Professional Organizers, I have become even more proficient at organizing. The standards and principles I learned from the Professional Organizer Training Institute™ are based on the principles and Code of Ethics set out by the National Association of Professional Organizers, of which I am also a member.
Because I am a member of NAPO, I am bound by their Code of Ethics and am continually becoming educated so that I am able to bring you the most up to date, as well as tried and true
organizing methods, ideas and products.
mission
Our mission at reclaimed spaces is to help you reclaim
space as well as reclaim time. To help you to become organized so you are able to spend time doing what you love with those you love.
my thoughts on organizing
Having lots of stuff doesn't make our lives any fuller. We even may become slaves to our possessions. What we choose to own and take care of determines how we choose to spend our time. It is a reflection of what is important to us.
Choosing to be organized is really just about trying
another way of living that might work more efficiently than the way we
are currently living. It’s about simplifying our lives so that we
have fewer decisions to make and more time to spend doing what we want.
Becoming organized doesn’t happen overnight
– just as disorganization didn’t happen overnight. It will
take time to organize the things you keep. There will be new systems to
learn and new habits to acquire. We will create systems together that
work for you and your family. Every person is unique – so each system
needs to be unique and tailored to suit your style.
Being organized isn’t about becoming a better
person – or a boring person. It’s about taking control of
our things and living our lives deliberately. It’s about being able
to find what we need when we need it – and finding it in a reasonable
amount of time.
our world
We have only one world and on that world there is only
so much space, and only so many resources. Lets protect our world and
keep it clutter free for ourselves as well as the generations to come.
It is my hope that any items that are reusable would
go to those in need and that whatever can be recycled will be recycled.
At reclaimed spaces we will do our very best to keep things from being
land filled and will make sure that things are disposed of properly, such
as paint, batteries, motor oil, plastic, aluminum, paper, etc.
